Itto Tenshin-ryu Taikai 2019
Itten Dojo is honored to host Rajguru Sensei for the 2019 Taikai of the Itto Tenshin-ryu, to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of November. The focus for training will be Gekken Sho. All members of the Itto Tenshin-ryu and Yamate-ryu, and qualified guests, are cordially invited to participate. The seminar will be held at the facilities of Itten Dojo in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and nearby hotel accommodations have been arranged at TownePlace Suites by Marriott. Download the registration brochure here.
If you wish to use a credit or debit card to submit the separate, administrative and black-tie dinner fees via PayPal, please use the links below. The mandatory honorarium for the instructor ($100 for both days; $50 for one day only) must be submitted separately, in cash, upon arrival at the dojo — please print and use the noshi-bukuro template here.
Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday the 2nd; the Taikai will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. There will be an etiquette and safety training session Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. — this training is mandatory for any junior students that have not yet passed an initial examination.
Lunch is included in the seminar administrative fee and will be served on-site. Participants are encouraged to bring additional water or sports drinks for themselves.
All participants should have a proper, traditional Japanese training uniform and zori (sandals), clean and in good repair. Each participant must also possess a properly maintained bokken (wooden sword) — preferably, an Itto Tenshin-ryu Bokken (sometimes referred to as a Gekken Bokken).

will be held at 1700 Degrees Steakhouse in the
