Intro to Iaido with Suino Sensei
Itten Dojo is honored to welcome back Nicklaus Suino, Director of Training at the Japanese Martial Arts Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for a September 26/27 workshop dedicated to the iaido of the Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu. Participation is open to members of our dojo, JMAC, the SMAA, and invited guests. A registration flier is avaiable here.
Three training sessions are planned: Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. (with a lunch-break from noon until 2:00 p.m.), and Sunday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Saturday lunch and evening dinner will be on a cost-share basis at local restaurants. Lunch will be within walking distance of the dojo; directions to dinner will be posted.
We are initiating with Suino Sensei a formal practice of iaido at our dojo, and this workshop is expected to be the first in a series of visits.
Registration fees for this event will be $100 for Saturday-only, or $150 for Saturday and Sunday. For those wishing to submit fees using a credit or debit card, please use the PayPal portal below, not later than Monday, September 21.
A proper, Japanese-style uniform will be required for the actual training sessions, along with a standard bokken (wooden sword) or iaito (an alloy-bladed, unsharpened training sword). Shinken (sharpened, steel swords) will not be permitted for this training.
Thank you for your support!
